Fool Me Once (Bad Boy Romance) Page 25
“If you’re ready, you may kiss the bride,” the pastor announced.
Dayton’s lips were on mine, sealing our marriage with the sweetest kiss. I could feel more tears streaming down my face. Flashes from the cameras and phones reminded me we weren’t alone. We broke apart and turned to face the crowd. Dayton grabbed my hand and held it up in the air like I was a prized fighter just winning a big match.
“She’s mine, guys! The woman actually married me!” he shouted.
There was a round of applause, mingled with laughter and shouts of congratulations. We walked down the aisle and made our way back to my dressing room for a moment of peace before we headed for the reception. My heart was pounding with excitement as he closed the door behind us.
“I cannot believe we’re actually married,” I told him.
He grabbed me, pulled me into his arms and gave me a proper kiss, the kind that melted my knees and nearly had me unzipping the back of my dress. When he pulled away, I could see the emotion in his eyes. His crazy jokes were his cover for what he was really feeling.
“I’m going to be the best damn husband in the world,” he whispered, giving me a soft kiss on the tip of my nose.
I looked at him and smiled. I knew he would. I had no doubt in my mind I was truly getting my happily ever after.
